#100happydays: Day 7
Think of all the places our Cecily Jane will go. How far her feet will carry her through all the years of her life. She started her journey today with two tiny steps from me to her Daddy. You go, sweet baby girl. I'll be behind you all the way.

Jeremy vs Santa
Me to Arthur: Guess who is coming to visit you tomorrow?
Arthur: I know! Santa Claus!!!
Poor Jeremy has been set up for a let down. Maybe the beard will distract him from the whole no bag full of toys thing.
Arthur says
"OH Mom! Candy sticks!" (They were tampons.)
"Mama! Remember! The clip goes on my nipples!" (In reference to his car seat.)
"That was so fun, Mom! I yove that mall, it's so beautiful!"
A: You a girl?
Me: Yes, I'm a girl.
A: Daddy is a guy.
Me: Yes. And what are you?
A: I'm Arthur!

Sibling Day
My first #tbt in honor of Sibling Day (which Facebook really seems to think is a thing although I got NO presents so idk). I love everything about this - from my freakishly tall sister to my completely beige brother to, well, Hannah... but mostly just because it reminds me of the joy of growing up as part of the Yingling 6-Pack. These people remain my greatest allies, my best teachers, my oldest and truest friends. Although seriously guys track your packages, I got no gifts today.

Equal Pay Day 2014
Today is Equal Pay Day, the day that marks how far into the year that women must work to match what a man earned the prior year. Today, in 2014, women in this country make 77 cents to a man's dollar. It is always a sad and discouraging day - a black and white reminder that despite the first wave, the second wave, the smart and talented do-anything women of my generation, we still have so far to go.
While the politicians are making resolutions and signing bills, these days I fight in different ways. I tell my tiny daughters that they are loud, confident, independent and brave. I praise my son for showing compassion (and tell him often that he can't talk to his Mama that way!) I have a lot of faith that in our little villages all over America other moms and dads are doing the same, and I have hope that our kids will change the world. And be paid equally for doing so, too.

Norah wants to go to work at Yaya's too! Watch out, Yaya, pretty soon you'll have three of them begging to go!
Also Arthur brought his suitcase.

Arthur says
Going into Arthur's room after bedtime:
"Oh hi Mama!"
"I was going to sneak in here and give you a kiss while you were sleeping. Like a princess!"
"I'm not a princess! I'm Arthur! Mama you are so ridiculous!!!"
